Don’t overlook the flooring!

Flooring for open living space often has much thorough fare with people accessing kitchen and garden via this.  The flooring is a key finish to many room and in this instance will need careful consideration – it will need to look atmospheric for evenings entertaining but also withstand the endless feet in and out of the garden too!

So easy-clean and hard-wearing features are paramount to give you a lasting performance.  A hard surface rather than carpet is clearly favourable, and there is much choice with endless designs of non-scratch tiles, wood laminate and vinyl flooring options.

The subtleties of wood laminate shown in our photograph above can work well with traditional or contemporary settings.  This beautiful Boen Chelentino in Oak Nature is a perfect example.

You can of course take these in any design direction, from ultra-modern to more classic.

Geometrical stone patterned flooring

This striking geometrical patterned stone floor is a real stand-out feature but the pattern will hide many marks!

Bring a taste of Moroccan tradition into your home with these colourful earthy tiles.

Take your time sampling!

Your floor will be down for a long time and the wrong choice can be very costly.   It is a good idea to gather samples of your flooring along with all samples for all other fixtures and fittings to ensure it is flowing, contrasting and above all working in the chosen space.  What works well in a showroom might not have the same impact in your home!
